There are many leagues for drone racing that you can find with a quick google search, but few of them are more than just a casual group for enthusiasts to meet each other. MultiGP has chapters all over the U.S. from Florida to California. They are a huge FPV drone racing league that hosts frequent competitive tournaments, free-fly gatherings, and casual events. All it takes is a sideways glance at their race schedule to see how active these chapters are, and how earnest their pilots are about the sport.
It might not be obvious that a group is part of MultiGP, as many of the chapters don’t advertise the name outwardly. They all, however, get access to numerous resources made available by the main body. These resources are extraordinarily helpful in both setting up and conducting racing events. From objects like racing gates to software that helps keep accurate track of pilots’ times, to even help with sponsor support, the chapters have access to all the help they could possibly need in organizing their own events.
Organizations like MultiGP are immensely helpful to the growth of new entertainment and sports. An active community is essential to gain the attention of more pilots. Even with the enormous boost in popularity due to establishments like the IDRA signing a contract with ESPN and the DRL raising millions from sponsors, it will always be the efforts of the community behind these endeavors that will bring Drone Racing to the limelight.
