Pilots from all around the world are currently looking for their ticket into the 2016 World Drone Racing Championship. Taking place at Kualoa Ranch in Hawaii, this week-long event is one of the two big events to be featured on ESPN because of their partnership with the International Drone Racing Association.
Over the past few months, approximately 15 countries held their national races as the prerequisite to qualify for Drone Worlds. From Poland to Japan to Thailand to Ireland, hundreds of pilots have shown their hand as expert practitioners. Unfortunately for many who raced, only those who can nab a winning spot in their country’s national actually qualify for the subsequent Drone Worlds.
Pilots like Christian Peterson already have their sights on the events like the Drone Worlds. He has already competed in Dubai’s World Drone Prix and is currently pushing himself to qualify in the 2016 US Drone Nationals in early August.
If you are interested in looking into the global racing scene, be sure to look for access to some of the upcoming competitions. There are a large number of national races occurring this very month in June, and quite a few in the early weeks of July.
A full list of all qualifying events can be found here. Unfortunately, there are still some specifics left up in the air for many of the races, so be sure to check often for updates.
