It’s been about a year since the PhoneDrone started making waves, turning your smartphone into a usable quadcopter. The company behind the product, xCraft, has moved their sights further into the world of drones, but this time, they decided to take a closer look into the world of drone racing. They have brought onto the market the beta version of their new drone series, the Rogue.
The company is trying to wow pilots from both ends of the spectrum, from inexperienced to expert flyers. The drone comes available in numerous different bundles, from the basic frame-sets for those who know what they are doing, and complete ready-to-fly setups for those who are either new or not interested in doing all the extra setup themselves. The developers have spent countless hours testing their product, enough for them to make bold claims about how it is the fastest production drone available, beating out the Teal Drone’s 85 mph by at least 15 mph (totaling at 100 mph).
The insanely quick speeds that xCraft mentions are made possible by their powerful rear “Booster” motor, which kicks the craft into high gear, giving it the extra oomph to beat the competition.
Drones like these that aim to make competitive drone racing easy to break into as a consumer are extremely important for the success of the sport. When new pilots can experience the intense speeds of a drone safely in first-person view, you can be sure that they will be interested in exploring it further.
More information about the drone and its creators can be found at their webpage.
