The Roswell Flight Test Crew flies the Rise Vusion House Racer from Hobbico. In keep with the aircraft’s design, the flight testing is conducted entirely indoors, within the confines of the office lunch room. Developed specifically for new pilots to learn First-Person View (FPV) racing, the House Racer arrives in a Ready-To-Fly (RTF) package. In addition to the drone itself, the controller, the FPV screen and goggles, the crew also sets up the House Racer Gate System, sold separately. The crew demonstrates all three flight modes, including the fully acrobatic “rate” mode to test aircraft performance, as well as the effectiveness of the included “wall guards” to protect it from collisions. Finally, the crew attempts to navigate the provided obstacles while flying FPV. The episode concludes with a flight endurance test.
