Could not make it out Vegas this year for CES? Check out the Airzuz summary of all the important drone news.
Here is the text from Airvuz News:
“For over 50 years, CES has been the self-proclaimed gathering place for all those who thrive on the business of consumer technologies. Tyler Mason has the event’s biggest drone news.
The Consumer Electronic Show, known simply as CES, descended on Las Vegas this week as some of the latest technology was on display. In 2018, that means drones were a hot item. One of the biggest headlines — literally — in the drone world was the introduction of the Volocopter. The passenger drone was demonstrated at the end of the Intel keynote speech to kick off CES. It was the first flight in North America for the German-made Volocopter, which made a flight in September of 2017 in Dubai. But it wasn’t just the big drones on display. Intel flew 100 small drones for a coordinated light show, similar to shows Intel put on at Disney World and last year’s Super Bowl halftime show. Other small drones, such as the pocket-sized AirSelfie2, drew attention. Drone racing was also featured at CES, though the Drone Rodeo that showcased these speedy drones took place about 45 minutes from the Vegas strip.
The show at CES included an entire marketplace dedicated to drones. Major drone manufacturers DJI and Yuneec both had displays at this year’s CES show. Yuneec announced three new drones at CES, including a fixed-wing aircraft and the company’s first racing drone. Chinese tech startup “Ryze” partnered with DJI to unveil the Tello drone which debuted at CES. Priced at just $100, Tello aims to offer an affordable camera drone targeted at a younger audience. While the Tello drone is manufactured by Ryze, it incorporates DJI and Intel components and is available for sale on the DJI website. The drone marketplace included around 50 exhibitors, which included other tech companies as well as the Federal Aviation Administration.”
